Cleaning Our Small Taro Pond

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY13 days ago

The rainy season is fast approaching so its now time to clean our little taro pond, this has been one of the source of our food . It is constantly providing fresh taro for us, we cook its stem as viand and it's fruit as a perfect partner for coffee.

It's been months since I had time cleaning this pond since its summer not much weed is growing , but when it started to rain weeds grew fast.

It was late afternoon when me and my mother started cleaning since the heat of the sun is too much to handle during the earlier time of the day.

I'm very thankful that our parents taught us how to do this things. Getting our hand dirty in return for a fresh and free food is a very acceptable trade.

Weeding this pond is not that hard since the grass that grew can easily be uprooted with the help of a bolo. I cleaned the inside and my mother took care of the side. So maybe just after an hour we were done cleaning it.

Soon we will have more plant here, so it may require more weed cleaning once we add the other vegetables. Like I said rains are starting to come, it is a good opportunity to plant root crop vegetables since wind will not affect them that much when typhoon comes.

I hope you like my short sharing of the activities that we do. Rural Life is the Best.

Thanks again for visiting,
Have a good day, see you in the next one!

Usually such weeds are seen in their own places which are important for us to clean. There are many places in our village where such weeds grow naturally. Your mother and you worked for quite a long time and raised them. Best of luck to you.

Weeding is good for mental health and it’s fun. I’m right now craving a Laing now that I’ve seen your plenty taro. It’s also yummy when mixed with seafood.

Sarap nyan sa lugaw at mga kakanin. May delicacy dito sa amin ang tawag ay pangat. Ginataang gabi at susò.

Niceyyy, you have a lot of em in your land. We love to use its roots some dish we prepared at home.

this plants parts can all be eaten no waste at all.

Yes, true, that's why ot's really a good plant.

It's nice that you have planted a lot of taro, which is so beneficial to you in many ways, especially as a source of food.
