🌱Picking some okra from a small garden and taking okra seeds🌱

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY22 days ago

Hello everyone,

Welcome back from my small garden new blog. How is it going guys? Is everything OK? I also saw the news that there was an earthquake in the Philippines. I am sad to hear that. I hope everything is fine. The other day, while I was picking some flowers from my small garden, I told you about some of the fruits in my yard. That day, there was one more vegetable left in my yard. I forgot to mention that. Today, I will tell you about that vegetable.

That vegetable is okra. Okra is also called lady finger. I think it's because the shape of okra is so slender and beautiful like a lady finger. I wanted to create a post about the okra from my garden, so I took some pictures about a month ago.

The yellow flowers shown above are beautiful okra flowers. I have never seen okra flowers before. Okra flowers are similar to Roselle flowers. However, Roselle flowers are red.

And okra flowers don't last long. They bloom in the morning and then, as you can see in the picture, they wilt by the evening.

When I removed those flower petals, there was a small okra inside, as shown in the picture.

The pictures above were taken about a week ago. As far as I can tell, the okra usually grows one at the base of a leaf stem. Then the plant continues to grow and the little okra sprouts grow back. In my small garden, my father has planted a total of 4 okra plants. He has planted 2 okra plants in each pot, and he has used a total of 2 baskets.

That day, I picked a total of 4 okra, including baby okra. The okra my father planted would get tough if they got too ripe. That's why I picked them when they were small because they were uncomfortable to eat. That day, I fried those okra with eggs.

The picture above is one I took today. You can see that the okra is ripe and one of them is a little dry. I won't pick those okra anymore. The rainy season is coming to an end. Winter will soon arrive. In the winter, we plan to plant new Okra plants, so the okra you see in this picture has been dried and taken as seeds. Next time I'll tell you about recipes that you can make using okra. That's all for today.

I love Okra a lot. Steam cooked and deep it into spicy bagoong also paired it into hot rice , boom that's was soo delicious. Addictive to eat, I don't know why 😅.

I used to not like okra, but now I really like it. Roasting okra and adding chili powder is also very good.

Really? Loved to try that one someday.

Your okra plants look so healthy! I love how you hared not just the harvest but also the beautiful flowers. Frying them with eggs sounds really delicious, it’s also the favorite of my daughter.

This type of crop is food and is a medicine for treating the stomach and helping joints for the elderly. It tastes delicious. And the price is reasonable, we can accept it.

Okra is good for health and maganda rin ito sa mga buntis though. 😀

Yes, okra plants are easy to grow because they don't take up much space.
