RE: Today

Aaahhhhh, I love your thoughts and your points here, @corinasskills... I've been ruminating deeply too, on what my inner hierarchy-of-thought is: who do I exclude from the conversation, by assuming my stance immediately and not waiting first to let others speak...

And language: it is very interesting yes, having learned several non-mother-tongues, and mostly having learned them by immersion in place and culture...

I'm now learning my own indigenous language Scottish Gàidhlig, which is opening wide horizons - where all my life it is a language and culture scorned and dismissed as 'irrelevant in modern times' by our Anglified focus on only authorised versions of 'history'.
I know that I was born into a land that had a sacred language connecting its people to plants, animals, seasons and elements: an embodied language rather than an imposed one. Rather than the Gàidhlig being 'old-fashioned', it's a profoundly ALIVE and vital force of nature - so very different from English, and so very adapted to profoundly different ideas about life, ethics and truth.

Much to respond to here, and much to unravel... I'm excited that we're entering The Gift together.
