I want to share my experience with medicinal plants, this time with the plant called Malojillo.

Before continuing I want to leave three recommendations:

  1. Do not overdo it.
  2. Do not give to small children.
  3. Do not take during pregnancy and lactation

Having made these warnings that are valid for all medicinal plants, I proceed to show you my experience

It is also known as ** lemon grass **, in my country, Venezuela, we call it ** malojillo ** and in some regions tea straw, perhaps because of its resemblance to the common straw or gamelot.

When these leaves are boiled, the house is impregnated with a pleasant smell similar to lemon, perhaps that is why they also call it ** limonaria * ". Its scientific name is * Cymbopogon citratus *.

It is good to add that this plant contains citronella, which mosquitoes do not like, so boiling its leaves is very useful to obtain a natural repellent that really works.

The malojillo is taken in Infusion, in a little water the leaves are placed, it does not matter if they are dry, and it is boiled, then it is taken hot or cold. Hot helps respiratory and digestive problems and cold is a very pleasant refreshing drink that can also help digestion.

I have known and used this plant for quite some time, but recently, specifically the month of October, it gave me Covid and I took it for its expectorant and decongestant properties and it helped me a lot. For two weeks I was taking the infusion when I felt unwell.

Any cold or any type of respiratory problem is very beneficial to take the infusion. It is also recommended in high voltage problems.

As I said at the beginning, the amount that is used should not be abused, nor should it be taken for a long time. I sometimes combined it with elderberry, others with basil, others with lemon and ginger, some days I used it alone and I am very happy with the result, it helped me to combat the discomforts of the Covid.

We all know that in Venezuela the price of pharmaceutical products is expensive and it has already become an open rumor that the way to deal with the virus is with the use of medicinal plants, in hot teas. Among them, the malojillo is a powerful ally that exists in many homes.

Caring for the plant is simple since it does not require much water, frequent watering damages it so it must have a substrate that allows rainwater not to remain on its roots for long, taking this care we can all have our plant .

Wow! I love your post about lemon grass, in my place, we put lemon grass in alcohol, that is the local made alcohol drink, we called the drink "kaikai" here in my locality, and we drink it every morning, for treatment of malaria and to clear our digestive system.
Inorder to keep us healthy.

Thank you for sharing this post, it is indeed an Amazing one, keep writing.

Good thing, it occurs to me that to finish cleaning the lungs after Covid it could be useful too. You've given me an idea. Obvious, in moderation.
