in The Herbal Hive2 years ago

I've been working with this plant in my medicinal tea blends for quite some time now, and have found it utterly amazing! Indispensable! This is an incredibly useful and beneficial plant that many consider just a weed. I can never have enough of it!

Sort:

Yeah, many people get confused with the banana-like vegetable of the same name. Plantain seeds can also be used medicinally, and they have mild laxative effects that are comparable to those of the seeds of psyllium, which is a close relative of plantain. Thanks @tydynrain for reading here.

Indeed. When I talk about plantain, Plantago major (or any other species in the genus this very medicinal genus), I usually have to explain the difference from plantain the cooking banana. Thanks much for your post! I love seeing plant knowledge being shared here! 🙏 💚

Despite the fact that these plants are frequently referred to as weeds, their leaves and seeds may all be consumed and have a long history of usage in traditional medicine.

From my perspective, only those who aren't aware of this plants amazing qualities would call it a 'weed'. It is a very potent plant!
