You're meant to get out and check to see if they have a joey on board, but it appeared to bound off into the bush, so if it was injured I was never going to find it.
No doubt it suffered an agonising and lingering death, or will suffer for a while until it finally expires in a couple days, that's if it's not eaten alive by foxes and birds first. The joey (if there was one) probably won't last as long, but will die after suffering similarly.
