TPM (Todas para o mar, "All -women- to the sea") was founded by the surfer Nuala Costa, and since 2015, has used surfing as a tool for inclusion in Maracaípe - PE, northeast Brazil, through the promotion of events and educational activities focused on surfing, giving new life opportunities to women, children and teenagers. Reccently, financial problems have been threatening the project to interrupt its actions. Still, through the mediation of Surfguru, which has already been supporting the cause, the NGO will now be able to continue its activities.
Funding was divided between GnarsDAO, NounsBR and LilSisters. These organizations originated from Nouns, a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (an acronym for DAO) that, through the daily sale of NFTs, supports projects and social causes to proliferate its brand by creating content collectively. NounsDAO has grown so fast that these “sub-DAOs” have emerged to target niches and more minor value propositions, like the subDAOs currently funding TPM. They all support different projects and causes by selling their own NFTs and promoting NounsDAO.

The local youth of Maracaípe bay - PE, where the NGO operates, have few prospects for work and leisure, often finding themselves in situations of social vulnerability at different levels. This financing came to guarantee the maintenance of the NGO TPM, which has been doing a work of fundamental importance in the creation of educational opportunities, as well as the introduction of routines and discipline for surfing, in addition to serving as a leisure option for children and teenagers from the community, improving the quality of life in the region.

In this mission, Play4Change, an initiative that promotes financial inclusion, education, and social transformation through web3, will meet, over the next few weeks, with some children and teens who participate in the NGO TPM to receive education on crypto, blockchain, web3 and DAOs in a general way. As part of the program, internal art workshops will also be held with children and teenagers from the TPM project.
This week, the first P4C meeting took place with children and adolescents from the TPM project to introduce them to web3 themes.
The web3 movement is new worldwide. That is why it is a crucial time to get involved and participate in the co-creation of countless emerging communities and endless possibilities for exchange. Training these young people on the web3 allows them to create the world they want to live in. After all, web3 is decentralized, and the blockchain enables people to create collectively and transparently. In this project, we connected the NGO TPM with two established DAOs, Play4Change, and NounsDAO. Both communities exist to empower people and not to live in corporate custody.

Since 2020, Surfguru has been allocating 10% of its subscription revenues to investments in projects and causes with a socio-environmental impact or that uses surfing as a tool for inclusion. A TPM foi fundada pela surfista Nuala Costa e, desde 2015, usa o surf como ferramenta de inclusão em Maracaípe - PE através da promoção de eventos e atividades educativas voltadas para o surf, dando novas oportunidades de vida para mulheres, crianças e adolescentes. Problemas financeiros vem ameaçando que o projeto interrompa suas atividades, mas através da mediação do Surfguru, que já vem apoiando a causa, a ONG agora poderá continuar sua atuação.
O financiamento veio dividido entre GnarsDAO, NounsBR e LilSisters. Estas são organizações que se originaram da Nouns, Organização Autônoma Descentralizada (sigla pra DAO - Decentralized Autonomous Organization) que, através da venda diária de NFTs, apoia projetos e causas sociais para proliferar a sua marca criando conteúdo coletivamente. O crescimento da NounsDAO foi tão rápido que surgiram essas “sub-DAOs” para atingir nichos e propostas de valores menores, como as subDAOs que estão financiando a TPM no momento. Todas apoiam projetos e causas diferentes através da venda dos próprios NFTs e de fomento da NounsDAO.

Esse financiamento veio para garantir a manutenção da ONG TPM, que vem fazendo um trabalho de fundamental importância na criação de oportunidades de educação, bem como a introdução de rotinas e disciplina para o surfe, além também de servir como opção de lazer para as crianças e adolescentes da comunidade, melhorando a qualidade de vida na região.
A possibilidade de arrecadar fundos por meio da internet é uma realidade revolucionária para a ONG TPM Todas Para o Mar. O Surfguru é um parceiro que está promovendo o nosso acesso na realidade do mundo da web3! São diversos os aprendizados que vão nos possibilitar a manter as nossas atividades com a comunidade de Maracaípe-PE. Essa parceria revolucionária impacta positivamente a vida de diversas crianças, adolescentes e mulheres em situação de vulnerabilidade. Nessa missão, a Play4Change, iniciativa que promove inclusão financeira, educação e transformação social através da web3, irá se reunir, durante as próximas semanas, com algumas crianças e adolescentes que participam da ONG TPM para receber educação sobre cripto, blockchain, web3 e DAOs de uma forma geral. Como parte do programa, também serão realizadas oficinas internas de arte com as crianças e adolescentes do projeto TPM.
Nessa semana aconteceu a primeira reunião da P4C com as crianças e adolescentes do projeto TPM para introdução sobre os temas da web3.
O movimento da web3 é novo no mundo inteiro. Por isso é um momento muito importante de se envolver e participar na cocriação de inúmeras comunidades que estão surgindo e de infinitas possibilidades de troca. Capacitar esses jovens na web3 é dar oportunidade para eles criarem o mundo que eles almejam viver. Afinal, a web3 é descentralizada e a estrutura de blockchain facilita as pessoas a criarem coletivamente e de forma transparente. Neste projeto, conectamos a ONG TPM com duas DAOs estabelecidas, a Play4Change e a NounsDAO. Ambas comunidades existem para empoderar as pessoas e não para viver sob custódia de empresas.
