MONOMAD : Hard light // Luz dura [ENG-ESP]
One of the wonders of creation that I love the most is the human eye. Not even the best camera in the world can adapt as fast as our eye. The way it processes information is amazing. One of the ways I notice it is when I take some pictures with a hard light source, like the one we have in the mornings in our bedroom. My cat Miñe will serve as a model.
Una de las maravillas de la creación que más me gustan es el ojo humano. Ni siquiera la mejor cámara del mundo puede adaptarse tan rápido como nuestro ojo. La forma en que procesa la información es impresionante. Una de las formas en que lo noto es cuando tomo algunas fotos con una fuente de luz dura, como la que tenemos en las mañanas en nuestra habitación. Mi gata Miñe servirá de modelo.
When photographing Miñe exposed to direct light, the phone camera must choose the values it will work with, but it will not be able to capture everything in the field of view. It will have to choose between what is in the light or in the shadow. Having a fast speed and a closed aperture will try to capture the details of Miñe in the harsh light, but will make it impossible to capture what is in the shadow. And with a slower speed or wider aperture you will be able to give more detail of what is in the shadow, but what is in the light will be "burned in".
Al fotografiar a Miñe expuesta a la luz directa, la cámara del teléfono debe elegir los valores con los que va a trabajar, pero no podrá lograr captar todo lo que está en el campo visual. Deberá elegir entre lo que está en la luz o en la sombra. Al tener una velocidad rápida y una apertura cerrada buscará captar los detalles de Miñe bajo la dura luz, pero imposibilitando captar lo que está en la sombra. Y con una velocidad más lenta o una apertura más amplia podrá dar más detalle de lo que hay en la sombra, pero lo que está en la luz se "quemará".
The human eye can have the same light situation so differently. But it can adapt quickly, making us more functional. I don't want to underestimate professional cameras - I love them! Rather, we give a lot of credit to these great geniuses in the field of photography who have made it possible for us to have these valuable devices. But at the same time we give credit to the creator of the original design.
El ojo humano puede tener las misma situación de luz tan diferente. Pero se puede adaptar rápidamente, haciéndonos más funcionales. No quiero con esto subestimar a las cámaras profesionales. ¡Me encantan! Mas bien, damos mucho mérito a éstos grandes genios del área de la fotografía que han hecho posible que tengamos estos valiosos dispositivos. Pero a la misma vez le damos mérito al Creador del diseño original.
