Walking down Obispo Street in its heyday was almost impossible. There were many people moving through the shops and small stalls where souvenirs from the city or the country were sold. After COVID, the takeoff has been too slow, most of the shops remain closed or have very little to offer, the souvenir sales points are the only ones that maintain a certain dynamic and go out to the sidewalk to look for the tourists who come down the weekly cruise when in season. Perhaps taking advantage of the solitude of this street, I was able to take some shots of Karla walking along the sidewalk in front of one of the entrances to the many multi-family buildings that characterize this street in Old Havana.
Caminar por la calle Obispo en sus buenos tiempos era casi imposible. Había muchísima gente moviéndose por entre las tiendas y los pequeños puestos donde se vendían recuerdos de la ciudad o del país. Después de la COVID ha sido demasiado lento el despegue, la mayoría de las tiendas permanecen cerradas o con muy poco que ofrecer, los puntos de venta de souvenirs son los únicos que mantienen cierta dinámica y salen a la acera a buscar a los turistas que bajan del crucero semanal cuando está en temporada. Quizás aprovechándonos de la soledad de esta calle, pude hacer algunas tomas de Karla caminando por la acera frente a una de las entradas de los tantos edificios multifamiliares que caracterizan a La Habana Vieja.
