Monomad: Oxytate

I saw a spider in my yard this afternoon. Oxytate virens, the translucent crab spider, the elongated green crab spider—too many monikers!

It has two front legs, which are very long, stout, and hairy. Is it male or female? I think it's a male.

He stuck himself to a mango leaf, not moving. But wait a minute!

... Maybe because I approached him, he felt threatened. He shifted quickly and slipped behind the leaf. Still in the same position, he still stuck himself there.

He felt increasingly insecure. It moves slowly up the leaf stalk. That's a dead end, buddy! Now, where are you going?

He then turned around. Maybe fatigue; he gave up.

He lay there, waiting for good luck. In the end, he did have good luck. Back home, to the mango tree.
