Welcome back with #monomad photo fans around the world. I want to share a black and white photo with the location still at Lake Lut Tawar, but at a different point and time.

My friends and I set up a tent on the edge of Lake Lut Tawar, Takengon, Central Aceh Regency (Indonesia). The weather was very cold when I woke up and took out a Canon D-100 SLR camera to hunt for interesting photo objects, especially the sunrise on the edge of the lake.

The plan to wait for sunrise was finally interrupted by the appearance of a figure on the edge of Lake Lut Tawar. Her body creates a beautiful silhouette against the background of the lake behind him. She walked along the edge of the lake, stopping occasionally, ducking to pick up something on the ground which turned out to be pebbles.

The stone was then thrown onto the still dark surface of the lake. The surface of the lake splashes, creating a distinctive splashing sound.

A piece of wood that has fallen and is starting to age makes the atmosphere on the edge of the lake more natural. The wood whose bark has been peeled off is like a piece of property that was deliberately placed there to enhance the natural impression of beauty, exoticism, and artistry.

I photographed the figure deliberately using a fallen tree as an obstacle. So, the photo objects recorded by the camera are a beautiful princess, a fallen tree, a lake and a mountain in the distance.

Not long afterward three other beautiful daughters appeared. I photographed their activities on the edge of the lake again from above. I call them the beautiful daughters of the lake. They explored various angles on the edge of the lake to get photos with beautiful lighting and backgrounds. In my opinion, their activities are beautiful in themselves.

The sun slowly began to emerge from behind the mountain, making the surface of the lake shine silvery. I also captured the moment with a camera. That's when local residents started entering the lake to catch fish.

I have to choose carefully from dozens of photos that have the same moment and object. I got rid of photos that were similar and didn't have a strong message. Here I also show photos with the daughters conscious and looking at the camera. The daughters who guard the lake are Desmita Ayu Fitri, Mona Sahara, Rizka, and Dara Ayu. They were my students who coincidentally set up tents close to each other.

Lut Tawar Lake, which is a freshwater lake at the top of the largest mountain in Indonesia, has many points with different names and beauties. I haven't visited all the places on the edge of the lake to hunt for #monomad photos. Hopefully on another occasion I can do it, because it requires special time and money to get there.[]

Para Putri Cantik Penunggu Danau

Berjumpa kembali dengan penggemar foto #monomad di seluruh dunia. Saya ingin berbagi foto hitam putih dengan lokasi masih di Danau Lut Tawar, tetapi di titik dan waktu berbeda.

Saya dan kawan-kawan mendirikan tenda di Pinggir Danau Lut Tawar, Takengon, Kabupaten Aceh Tengah (Indonesia). Cuaca sangat dingin ketika saya bangun dan mengambil kamera SLR Canon D-100 untuk memburu objek foto yang menarik, terutama sunrise di pinggir danau.

Rencana menunggu sunrise akhirnya terinterupsi dengan munculnya sesosok tubuh di pinggir Danau Lut Tawar. Tubuhnya menimbulkan siluet yang indah dengan latar danau di belakangnya. Ia menyusuri tepian danau sambil sesekali berhenti, merunduk untuk mengambil sesuatu di tanah yang ternyata batu kerikil. Batu itu kemudian dilemparkan di atas permukaan danau yang masih gelap. Permukaan danau berkeciprak menimbulkan suara percikan yang khas.

Sebatang kayu yang tumbang dan mulai menua, membuat atmosfir di pinggir danau menjadi lebih alamiah. Kayu yang kulitnya sudah terkelupas itu seperti sebuah properti yang memang sengaja di tempatkan di sana untuk menguatkan kesan alami yang indah, eksotis, sekaligus artistik.

Saya memotret sosok itu dengan sengaja menggunakan pohon kayu tumbang sebagai perintang. Jadi, objek foto yang terekam kamera adalah, putri cantik, pohon tumbang, danau, dan gunung di kejauhan.

Tak lama kemudian muncul tiga putri cantik lainnya. Kegiatan mereka memotret di pinggir danau saya potret kembali dari atas. Saya menamakan mereka para putri cantik penunggu danau. Mereka mengekplorasi berbagai sudut di tepi danau untuk mendapatkan foto dengan pencahayaan dan latar yang indah. Menurut saya, kegiatan mereka adalah keindahan tersendiri.

Matahari perlahan mulai menyembul dari balik gunung yang membuat permukaan danau bersinar keperakan. Saya juga mengabadikan momen itu dengan kamera. Saat itulah warga setempat mulai masuk ke danau untuk menangkap ikan.

Saya harus memilih dengan cermat dari puluhan foto yang memiliki momen dan objek sama. Saya menyingkirkan foto-foto yang serupa dan tidak memiliki pesan kuat. Di sini saya juga menampilkan foto dengan para putri yang sadar dan menatap kamera. Para putri penjaga danau itu adalah Desmita Ayu Fitri, Mona Sahara, Rizka, dan Dara Ayu. Mereka adalah mahasiswa saya yang secara kebetulan mendirikan tenda berdekatan.

Danau Lut Tawar yang merupakan danau air tawar di puncak gunung terbesar di Indonesia, memiliki banyak titik dengan nama dan keindahan berbeda. Saya belum seluruhnya mengunjungi tempat di pinggir danau untuk memburu foto #monomad. Semoga dalam kesempatan lain bisa saya lakukan, sebab membutuhkan waktu khusus dan biaya untuk ke sana.[]
