This is my entry for the #monomad challenge
In 2015 I got my Spanish citizenship and started my life as a traveler to Canada without knowing that I had a big surprise and it was to spend a few days in the city of New York, I only knew about this place for its romantic movies, for the sad story of 9/11, for series like Friends etc, but never in my life I thought I was going to set foot in that city.
En 2015 obtuve mi ciudadanía española y inicié mi vida de viajera hacia Canadá sin saber que me tenían una gran sorpresa y era pasar unos días por la cuidad de New York, solo sabia de este lugar por sus películas románticas, por la triste historia del 11S, por series como Friends etc, pero jamás en mi vida pensé que iba a pisar esa ciudad.
We went from Montreal by car, we arrived almost at dusk, but the night does not stop downtown. Just arriving and seeing so many skyscrapers was amazing, because in Havana there are very few tall buildings and Times Square even at night there is so much light that it does not seem so.
Fuimos desde Montreal en carro llegamos casi atardeciendo, pero la noche no frena en el centro. Tan solo llegar y ver tantos rascacielos eso era asombroso, pues en la habana hay muy pocos edificios con alturas y el Times Square aun siendo de noche hay tanta luz que no lo parece.
I visited several iconic places and one of them was the Statue of Liberty, my God, I think about it and it still impresses me. Not only did I go there, I also went to Ellis Island, with a super impressive story about immigration. I went to the largest zoo in the United States, located in the Bronx, I have no words to describe such beauty.
Visite varios lugares icónicos y uno de ellos fue la Estatua de la Libertad, madre mía, lo pienso y aun me impresiona. No solo llegué ahí, también fui a Ellis Island, con una historia súper impresionante sobre la inmigración. Fui a el zoológico más grande de todos los Estados Unidos, ubicado en el Bronx, no tengo palabras para describir tanta belleza.
New York is a city that stayed in my heart, I was there for 4 days and I haven't been back, but I have a lot of life left and I know I will be back.
New York es una ciudad que quedo en mi corazón, estuve 4 días y no he vuelto a ir, pero me queda mucha vida y sé que volveré.
