Takengon, which is known as "The Land Above the Clouds", "Tanoh Gayo Highlands", takes place an annual gayo folk party, one of which is the traditional gayo horse race.
Geographical conditions as well as traditions in the jockey's home area support the formation of talent to become a reliable horse rider, since their children are close to horses.
Although what a jockey does is identical to the risk when riding a horse that runs at high speed.
The risk is, sometimes the jockey has difficulty controlling the horse he is riding, resulting in the jockey being thrown from the horse's back while in the race, there are also spectators who become victims due to being run over by a horse that runs fast and is not controlled by the jockey.
I happened to watch a traditional horse racing competition in the Gayo highlands to capture the traditional racing competition held in Takengon City.
In that arena, I explored the activities of the jockey while riding his horse.
