🦙 The Llamas of Cusco
Hello dear Black and White community,
If you ever go to Cusco, you will see llamas everywhere.
They stand with elegance, dressed in their natural wool coat, and with their big teeth chewing grass as if they were chewing coca leaves.
Let me share a little bit of knowledge:
Besides being valued for their wool, which protects against the harsh Andean cold, llamas were also used as pack animals to travel along the Qhapaq Ñan (Great Inca Road), and even as part of sacrificial offerings to Pachamama (Mother Earth).
The Qhapaq Ñan connected the Andes to the coast, and it is said to have stretched over 60,000 km.
The Inca culture is truly astonishing, and I keep learning more by reading and researching.
I feel very happy to share pieces of my country’s history and culture, whether through the portraits I create every day or through Andean images filled with folklore and curious facts.
I hope you learned a little more about these beautiful llamas.

🦙 Las Llamas del Cusco
Hola querida comunidad en Blanco y Negro
Las llamas, si vas a Cusco, las verás por todos lados.
Puedes contemplarlas y quedarte admirado de su elegancia, con su chompa de lana natural y esos dientes enormes comiendo pasto como si estuvieran chachando coca.
Acá les comparto un poquito de mi conocimiento:
Además de ser apreciadas por su lana, que ayuda a soportar los fuertes fríos andinos, también fueron utilizadas como animales de carga para recorrer el Qhapaq Ñan (Gran Camino Inca), e incluso en sacrificios de pago a la Pachamama (Madre Tierra).
El Qhapaq Ñan conectaba los Andes con la costa, y se dice que llegó a alcanzar más de 60,000 km de extensión.
La cultura incaica es sorprendente, siempre hay algo nuevo por descubrir leyendo libros o investigando en internet.
Yo soy muy feliz de mostrar cada pedazo de la historia y la cultura de mi país, ya sea en los retratos que hago día a día o en las imágenes andinas llenas de folklore y datos curiosos.
Espero que hayan aprendido un poquito más sobre las hermosas llamas.
