It's been six years since the Louisville Metro Police Department gunned down Breonna Taylor in her own home. Six years a momma's been missing her kid. Six years and not a single person has faced charges for her death.

Six years since that summer that lasted an eternity. Think 2020 warped the time-space continuum, a week could last a decade that year, but the years since have passed in a flash.

Six years, and we still find ourselves keep finding ourselves back in Injustice Square Park, at Breewayy.

There was six minutes of silence for Breonna today. Got told the wrong time and missed it though. Still spent a few hours at Breewayy, got there at 1500 and some folks had already been at the square for hours.

People trickled in throughout the day, stopping by to remember Breonna Taylor and say hi to old comrades from that long, hot summer. It wasn't a protest per se, but staring too long might get chants of "Breonna Taylor" sent your way. And of course some hearty rounds of "Fuck 12!" for the boys in blue.

Reunion mixed with remembering the martyrs, Breonna and all the ones we've lost in the six years since.

Some freestyle as well, all 'based on a true story.'

Until we get justice, there's nothing to do but follow the words of Hamza "Travis" Nagdy and "Keep Going!"

This kind of injustice is happening in every country and people are killed in this way and then no one even admits their guilt. Here in our city too, many such incidents have happened and then they are not even allowed to protest.
