This is my weekly entry for the #monomad challenge. I know it runs everyday, I just don't want to spam the group or my blog... entering once a week is enough keep things interesting.
Its actually been ages since I have taken part in this, mostly because I've not done any studio model type shoots for ages. That all changed last week!
These images taken from a Studio day I attended last weekend. It was arranged by @richgaynor who had been a couple of times, and and now he had set up his own event and invited models and photographers to join him.
Essentially, it is a specialist studio, featuring a large tank of water with LED lights above it, and a large clear window on one side. The photographer stands next to the window and is surrounded by a large black canopy, which stops any light coming coming in behind the photographer. This also stops any reflections appearing on the glass window, and so we get clear shots of the model.
When each model goes in the water they all have 5-10 minutes to get used to the water. Fair play to them its not easy to get yourself in an interesting position while holding their breath for 30-40 seconds at a time.
Originally all of these were colour images, and if you keep an eye on my blog you will see some of those in the next few weeks while I work through editing them. But while I was editing these I noticed that the light looked really interesting, so I tried converting them to monochrome, and I think some of these have turned out beautifully...
Stay tuned, I have a million more images to share from this day (I did take nearly 2000 images over the space of 6 hours!)

These are very stunning, I love how it doesn’t even look like the models were inside water..
But I’m also want to know what the colored pictures look like.
