"Cuban eagle", hahaha. Imagination has no limits and neither does humor, fortunately! The fact is that the photographic theme of this issue is precisely that, the "Cuban eagle".
It turns out that several weeks ago we were in Soroa, Pinar del Rio, in a mountainous area where there are several viewpoints and we climbed, I mean, we climbed one of them, according to the locals the highest. Nothing movie of course, we are talking about 370 meters high, but for someone not entering, or not used to this type of hiking it always costs a little to get to the top. Once we reached the goal, the summit, we were accompanied there by a group of vultures flying very close to us. They make their nests almost at the top of the hill, a little below our location, but very close.
I had the opportunity to photograph the elegant and restful flight of these birds, although I confess, they are not the most beautiful in the world, nor the ones with the best culinary taste. The view was beautiful, but I have already published views of this place on another occasion, so today the "Cuban eagle" is the protagonist. Hola amigos del blanco y negro, y de las alturas, ¿Porqué no? Las alturas... creo que fue aquí en #hive que leí una publicación que hacía alusión al "águila cubana", o sea, la tiñosa más común y corriente que pueda existir. Eso me causó mucha gracia la verdad. "Águila cubana", jajaja. La imaginación no tiene límites y el humor tampoco, ¡por suerte! El hecho es que el tema fotográfico de esta entrega se trata precisamente de eso, el "águila cubana". Resulta que hace varias semanas estuvimos en Soroa, Pinar del Río, en una zona montañosa dónde hay varios miradores y escalamos, digo, subimos a uno de ellos, según los habitantes de allí el más alto. Nada de película por supuesto, estamos hablando de unos 370 metros de altura, pero para alguien no entrando, o no acostumbrado a este tipo de senderismo le cuesta siempre un poco llegar a la cima. Una vez lograda la meta, la cima, nos acompañó allí un grupo de tiñosas sobrevolando muy cerca de nosotros. Y es que hacen sus nidos casi en la punta de la loma, un poco por debajo de nuestra ubicación, pero muy cerca. Tuve la oportunidad de fotografiar el elegante y descansado vuelo de estas aves, aunque confieso, no son las más bellas del mundo, ni las de mejor gusto culinario. La vista era preciosa, pero ya he publicado en otra ocasión vistas de este lugar, así que hoy el "águila cubana" es la protagonista. Con estas fotos de altura quiero hacer mi entrada al reto diario #monomad. ¡Nos vemos!
