Hey dear Hive Community, as always, I would like to welcome you first of all with kind words and hope you are well and you had a great weekend! In my new post I would like to present some pictures in black and white and this post is my entry for the #monomad challenge.
My pictures were taken some time ago during a walk through a park and I had the opportunity to see great works of art and took the opportunity to take some pictures right away. I find historical works of art like these create their very own and classic flair and are also full of symbolism, which I would like to discuss in the post. In my entry you can see a bench which was decorated with sculptures of lions and on the other pictures sculptures with a rhombus as a symbol which is often found in the Renaissance.
The lion is often found in symbolism and is a well-known symbol and stands for the king of animals and is often associated with domination, strength and courage. Lions are often found mythologically, such as in ancient Greece the Nemean lion and also a separate constellation is dedicated to the lion, which has been known since ancient times. The lion is also often associated with the sun and the constellation lion can also be found in alchemy and is associated with a process to create the philosopher's stone, digestion.
Another well-known symbol from alchemy is the green lion, which is also associated with vitriol, which was used by many alchemists. Symbolically, the green lion devours the sun and gold comes out as a result. The other pictures symbolise buildings that are decorated with rhombus symbols which can been found since ancient times. The rhombus is often associated with femininity and fertility and in mythology is often associated with wisdom and the divine.
The rhombus was formerly also regarded as a protective symbol and was often associated with magic in the Middle Ages. In art history, rhombus symbols can often be seen in a wide variety of works and can often be seen in floors, sculptures, walls and more. It has also often been associated with traditional events and from a spiritual point of view, the rhombus is often associated with inner fire, creativity and the ability to concentrate. Symbolically, it is also often associated with minerals, diamonds, eternal life and love.
Even in the alchemist symbolism, rhombus symbols can be found and are associated with all of the elements necessary to create the great work or the philosopher's stone. This symbol can also often be found in Celtic and Nordic mythology and it is also often found in heraldry and is symbolized in many coats of arms. Even in modern times, the rhombus is often found and is associated with the special character on the keyboard, # which is also known as a hashtag.
Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you like my entry! I used my camera Sony Alpha 6000 and Sony SEL-55210 Telephoto Zoom Lens (55-210mm) to take these pictures.

Very beautiful artwork. I also like to see such sculptures.
Happy to hear your opinion and to have found a like-minded person when it comes to the topic.
I really thought it is just a random art work for the bench and fence, not knowing they have a meaning behind it.
lovely shots my friend.
I also find it always interesting to dive deeply into symbolism. It motivates me that you like my pictures :)
