I'm currently living in Kuching, Sarawak on the less crowded part more like Kampung Baru in KL. Police and soldiers have checkpoint near my home (maybe) because I live not far from the administrative part with the government offices and official residence nearby. Hardly anyone dare to go out, like I said before, you will get interrogated by the police asking where you want to go and what you are doing...etc.
Within like 5km radius from where I live, there's multiple check points. I feel like living in a war zone.
My part of Selayang is just above a hill, near a local magistrate, some government offices, and the local council. While I've not seen any checkpoints personally, being an administrative quarter, I think it might just be as serious as over there in Kuching 😕. While I don't like it, hopefully this will discourage those stubborn people not to go out unnecessarily.
