🏰 Old Town Sisak – Guardian of history at the confluence of three River/2🌊//monomad challenge

in Black And White5 days ago

Greetings and good morning to everyone at Black and White Photography🙌📸

Yesterday, in my first post about the Old Town, I had one comment, I quote: "Beautiful community you have💚 curious what your community looks like now, is their any changes way back 2018", written by @john0928, and the question was asked and filmed because I said that the photos were taken in 2018. And the answer is yes, over the years there have been great changes. Namely, this guardian of ours, the divine Old Town of Sisak, experienced devastation and destruction during the catastrophic earthquake on 29.12.2020. that hit my city of Sisak and the surrounding area. Right now it is in the reconstruction phase and I will try to go there these days and and take a picture of him.

So, today we're going to take a look at the guardian of history as it looked in 2018, and write a few sentences about that history, but first

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge

This imposing fortress, built in the 16th century, is famous for the legendary Battle of Sisak in 1593, when Croatian forces stopped the Ottoman advance westward. Today, as a peaceful guardian of the past, the Old Town reveals its stone secrets to anyone who steps within its walls.

With its massive stone walls and peaceful surroundings, it invites visitors to take a walk through the centuries.

🌿 Surrounded by greenery and water, the Old Town of Sisak is not just a monument – it is a space where history lives and nature soothes. Whether you are a history lover, architecture lover or just looking for a quiet corner to escape from everyday life – the Old Town of Sisak will not disappoint you.

You know, right in this one tower, back in 1984, my husband ❤️and I said our "I DO"s, and our daughter ❤️did the same with her husband 💙 in 2011. Namely, until the earthquake, civil weddings were held in this magnificent building.

I took the photos with an Olympus E-M10 Mark III, direct HDR in the camera program, 40-150mm lens, processed in Photoshop Action Black and White3
This is all for Today dear Friends, see you Tomorrow

Thank you so much @redditposh ❤️

It's certainly a beautiful post. It's always interesting to discover places like this, places I'll probably never visit but which, thanks to people like you, I can at least see in photographs. It's interesting that civil weddings can now be held there. I suppose that's why this place holds a special place in your heart.

Thank you very much dear @gaboamc2393 for this comment. I am glad that I can show you my city, my country that I adore. And yes, I am especially attached to the Old Town precisely because my husband (who is no longer with us, he passed away in 2014) and I got married here with our chosen one, as did our daughter with her chosen one. I often remember those two events, so important and so dear to my heart. ❤️❤️

Thanks for sharing this. Looks like a great castle with a great role in stopping Ottomans.

Thank you so much dear @wnfdiary, so says history
