Revitalizing a memory

The location where these old photos were taken is located on the beach of the local town at the end of 2022. (As far as I can recall, that year between October and November.) Through these old photos, memories come back to my mind about a photo hunting trip along the beach, which is still my best choice to this day. This reminds me that the beginnings of civilization often appeared at this location. Not surprisingly, evidence of historical travel is almost easy to find along the coastal area. (Maybe everyone agrees with this statement, because this is just my interpretation.)

However, this time I just want to share memories of photographing the dynamics of the beach atmosphere with activities at the government-owned oil company port and portraits of the lives of the surrounding coastal communities.

Pertamina, the name of the largest oil and gas company here, often uses coastal areas as ports. This city's iconic vista is of the active oil tanker loading and unloading operations. It's not surprising that the best photo ops here are frequently taken by other outstanding local photographers.

Behind its splendor there are depictions of the faces of native people, mostly from coastal towns who work hard at their individual jobs as traditional fishermen, occasionally turning to scavengers for extra cash. However, one thing is for sure—it's a profession they like and have chosen. Because any job will be challenging without these prerequisites.

And with its diverse life dynamics and rich history, this is one of the gateways to the city center here, Lhokseumawe, my hometown.
