Have a !BEER at least. I detest how yellow journalism pervades corporate legacy media. Bad reporting mixes with partisanship to get people bickering over two partial false interpretations of an event so often it's a wonder anyone still believes any of it.
Thanks, I need one after all that. I thought yellow journalism was it's legacy? Bad reporting and partisanship is a beautiful recipe for false dichotomies, but I can't help be think there's more to it as well. Their role as arbiters of information is slowing being minimized but they're still playing it to the hilt, the act of choosing what to cover is just as important as how they cover it but that always seems to get lost or overlooked. Still, the livestreamers give me some sliver of hope, they may not change things on their own but they're starting to hold the traditional types to account, definitely had an effect on how the local media covered the protests here.
