Oh that's a good idea sir johannpiber! Are those located mostly on national forest lands?
Yes, that's true - most trees are in national forests, but some are on private properties too. And you may be sure that I would never hurt a tree if by cutting a name in it's bark. The only reasons for me to hurt or cut a tree would be when it's dangerous or if I would need fire wood for the winter ;)

That is true about not hurting trees and especially those trees out by themselves who are somehow special!
Trees are also living beings - I'm no tree hugger though ;)
