Monomad: Big Horn Sheep

I have always thought that Big Horn Sheep were a very friendly looking animal, fearsome but gentle. The way their fur turns white in the winter really lends itself well to monochrome and its fun seeing them out in the snow. The details and textures in their horns are interesting and I find really gives them a weathered all seasons type of appearance.

What a beautiful animal, these photos look great in black and white.

Thanks, yes I almost wish I could get closer and pet them haha.

this is how I really like sheep with big and long horns, they must be sheep that are very old. thanks for sharing with us

I think that is true, their horns show the years of wisdom and experience.

It is a very beautiful specimen, but they are perfect in black and white because they have more strength and contrast in the composition.

Thank you, I agree it seems to really suit these shots and the subjects work well in black and white.
