Like many downtowns in North America over the past 10 to 20 years we have seen a rise in modern condo towers. Before these buildings started to spring up adjacent to downtown Calgary and right beside the Exhibition and Stampede grounds there really wasn't much development of any kind. Close by there is a warehouse district dating from Calgary's early days otherwise it was the last few remaining houses or vacant lots. Now its really expanding upon all the high rises making downtown a much larger spectacle and adding a different flavor of architecture to the skyline.
