Hello, my dear friends — how’s your week going?
Yesterday was an absolutely spectacular day, and I mean that in every sense of the word. Let me tell you: there’s an area of the city I’d been wanting to explore and take some photos of, but I never dared to go alone. I had been there once before, but I didn’t feel bold enough to actually work, so I invited a friend and we went together. Wow… what an incredible place. It felt like it was designed specifically for street photographers. And the people were so friendly, which honestly caught me by surprise; I thought someone might try to attack me at any moment, and I was completely wrong. Anyway, let me show you what I found…
These snapshots 📸 are my submission for the #monomad challenge by @monochromes and @brumest.
The first thing I came across was this beautiful cat that looked like it had been waiting for me. But it turns out its owner has 16 more — she rescues them from the streets and takes them into her home. There, they’re well cared for and later given up for adoption. Big applause 👏 for her.
I rushed toward the car — old, time-worn, and parked in front of an 18th-century house. What more could you ask for?
I looked like a kid in a toy store.
“Look at that beautiful dog!” I said as I ran over. He just stayed there, totally asleep. The tongue thing was just him being playful, his owner told me. Anyway, he was gorgeous.
When it comes to solving everyday problems, any method is fair game.
The city is full of this message; I finally found it at the exact moment and place I had in mind. And yes, that man needed to be happy — and so did I.
Wow — it couldn’t have turned out better. Sometimes looks can be deceiving; I thought I’d find an underground world full of danger, and instead I left completely satisfied 😏 and eager to go back. Honestly, Havana is a magical place for street photography — you have to experience its streets!

Hola, queridos amigos, ¿qué tal de semana?
Ayer fue un día espectacular, y lo digo en el mayor sentido de la palabra. Les cuento, hay una zona de la ciudad a la cual quería aventurarme y hacer algunas fotos, pero solo no me atrevía. Es cierto que en alguna ocasión estuve allí, pero no me sentí atrevido como para trabajar, entonces invité a una amiga y fuimos juntos. Wow, qué lugar más magnífico, pareciera que fuese diseñado para los fotógrafos callejeros. Las personas muy amables, cosa que no me esperaba sinceramente; yo creía que me podían atacar en cualquier momento y estaba muy equivocado. En fin, les voy enseñando lo que encontré...
Lo primero fue este bello gato que pareciera me estaba esperando, pero resulta que su dueña tiene 16 más, los rescata en la calle y los lleva a su hogar; allí son muy bien atendidos y dados en adopción, aplausos 👏 para ella.
Corrí hacia el auto, antiguo, desgastado por el tiempo, y frente a una casa del siglo XVIII, ¿qué más se puede pedir?
Parecía yo un niño en una tienda de juguetes.
—¡Mira qué perro más bello!, —y corrí; allí se quedó, estaba superdormido, lo de la lengua era por monerías, me dice su dueño, en fin, hermoso.
Cuando se trata de resolver los problemas diarios, cualquier medio es válido.
La ciudad está llena de este mensaje; al fin, lo encontré en el momento y lugar que tenía en mente, y sí, ese señor necesitaba ser feliz, y yo también.
Vaya, que mejor ni mandado hacer; a veces las apariencias engañan, yo pensaba encontrar un submundo lleno de peligro y salí muy satisfecho 😏 y loco por regresar. En verdad, La Habana es un lugar mágico para la fotografía callejera; ¡¡¡deben experimentar sus calles!!!
Entonces me despido por ahora, pero regreso pronto con más historias de calle y muchas fotos, Cuídense y les deseo mucha salud.
