Monomad challenge - BW - winter or not

in Black And White2 months ago

I'm participating in the #monomad challenge with this post.

Title: BW - winter or not

I still remember the short icy period during January. One of the few this year. I think this is definitely the warmest winter in my life. Every year is warmer than the previous one. During this period of several days of cold, a thin crust of ice was caught on stagnant water surfaces. Every night a new thin layer of ice replaced the previous one.

The wet and warm winter enabled conditions for life in places where it is rare. Like this hollow in the trunk of a tree that became an ideal place for seeds to germinate and a tiny plant to grow.

That it is winter at all can only be noticed by the lack of leaves on the trees and the dried fruits of rose hips and the seeds of various plants.

We will see if this kind of weather will continue in March, which can always surprise with extremely cold weather and snow.

Thanks a lot for your kind words

That thin ice in the first photo looks like amoeba under the microscope!

Like all the photos! You did a great collection and picked perfect captures for the monochrome photos!

Thanks. This winter, there was only thin ice on a few occasions and only occasional flakes of snow. It's just a trapped bubble of air. Yeah it looks like something through the microscope eyepiece.
