Visiting the City of Rome and not taking a tour of St. Peter's Basilica can be considered a "Tourist Sin" and not only for believers of the Catholic Church but also for non-believers of the Church.
Visitar la Ciudad de Roma y no dar un recorrido por la Basílica de San Pedro sí que lo podemos catalogar como un “Pecado Turístico” y no solo para creyentes de la iglesia católica sino también para los que no son creyentes de la iglesia.
Once we are in the limits of Rome and the Vatican City, we have a very well marked path from the square which leads us to the entrance of the Basilica. As a fact I comment that for this tour is totally free and has no cost except that we want to climb to the dome that is done through an elevator and at the top because you can see from the roof of the basilica the grandeur of St. Peter's Square and images of the Vatican that will leave you with your mouth open, but well about this tour I hope to tell you in a next post, so for the moment we will focus on the interior of St. Peter's Basilica which I will be showing you with a photographic tour in black and white and thus continue providing content for this community, so this would be my next entry for the #monomad challenge.
Una vez estando en los límites de Roma y la Ciudad del Vaticano, tenemos un camino muy bien señalizado desde la plaza el cual nos conduce a la entrada de la Basílica. Como dato les comento que para este recorrido sí es totalmente gratuito y no tiene ningún tipo de costo a excepción de que queramos subir a la cúpula que se realiza a través de un ascensor y en la parte superior pues podrás observar desde el tejado de la basílica la grandeza de la plaza de San Pedro y unas imágenes del Vaticano que te dejarán con la boca abierta, pero bueno sobre este recorrido espero poder comentártelo en una próxima entrada, así que por los momentos nos centraremos en el interior de la Basílica de San Pedro la cual les estaré mostrando con un recorrido fotográfico en blanco y negro y de esta manera seguir aportando contenido para esta comunidad, así que esta sería mi próxima entrada para el reto #monomad.
I told you in my previous tour of the Sistine Chapel that the Vatican is one of the smallest states in the world and is also the main and most important point of the Catholic Church, besides being a UNESCO heritage site because of its importance and history.
Les comentaba en mi recorrido anterior por la Capilla Sixtina que el vaticano es uno de los estados más pequeños existentes en el mundo y además es el punto principal y mas importante de la iglesia católica, además de ser patrimonio de la UNESCO por su importancia e historia.

As an important point we have mentioned that the Vatican is one of the smallest countries in the world and its main square, St. Peter's Square is so big that it occupies 20% of the territory of this small country, so you can compare the magnitude of the square with the size of this small state. This square has a very interesting architecture on one side we have a view towards the entrance of the basilica and if we see it from the opposite side we observe a square that is made as if it were an oval and a huge obelisk that stands out in the middle.
Como punto Importante hemos comentado que el Vaticano es uno de los países más pequeños que existen en El Mundo y su plaza principal la Plaza de San Pedro es tan grande que ocupa un 20% del territorio de este pequeño país, así que ya podrán ir comparando la magnitud de la plaza con el tamaño de este pequeño estado. Esta plaza tiene una arquitectura bastante interesante por un lado tenemos una vista hacia la entrada de la basílica y si la vemos del lado contrario observamos una plaza que está realizada como si fuese ovalo y un enorme obelisco que resalta en todo el medio.

In this place is also the residence of the holy pope who is in office, so on certain occasions or almost always we can look at the military in this case is the Swiss Guard with some pretty striking uniforms that will surely attract the attention of anyone who is on the road and will be very tempting to take a picture of them.
En este lugar también se encuentra la residencia del santo papa que se encuentre en mandato, así que en ciertas ocasiones o casi siempre podremos mirar a los militares que en este caso es la Guardia Suiza con unos uniformes bastante llamativos que seguro va a atraer la atención de cualquier persona que esté por el camino y será muy tentador tomarles una fotografía.
The church of St. Peter's Basilica is one of the churches with the largest walkable space inside in the world and the truth is that it is a very big place both in meters long to walk, as in its height with incredible architectural domes and columns.
La Iglesia de la Basílica de San Pedro es una de las iglesias que tienen mayor espacio transitable en su interior del mundo y la verdad que es un lugar muy grande tanto en metros de largo para caminar, como en su altura con unas cúpulas y columnas arquitectónicas increíbles.
I can tell you that the interior of the basilica has impressed me a lot, not only for the space and the large dimensions it has, but also for all those architectural pieces, paintings and religious images that are inside and that are part of its decoration, Besides the statue of the Pietà by Michelangelo and the bronze statue of St. Peter that undoubtedly captivates the eyes of every spectator, but one of the most striking places and that takes an honorable mention is the so-called Baldachin of Bernini which is located inside the basilica and is a completely bronze architecture work of the same author Bernini.
Les puedo decir que el interior de la basílica me ha impresionado muchísimo, ya no solo por el espacio y las dimensiones tan grandes que tiene, sino también por todas esas piezas arquitectónicas, pinturas e imágenes religiosas que se encuentran dentro y que forman parte de su decoración, además de las estatua de la Piedad de Miguel Ángel y la estatua de bronce de San Pedro que sin duda se cautiva las miradas de todo espectador, pero uno de los lugares más llamativos y que se lleva una mención honorífica es el llamado Baldaquino de Bernini que se encuentra dentro de la basílica y es un una arquitectura completamente de bronce obra del mismo autor Bernini.

Also on the site are several staircases with a somewhat circular route that lead to the Vatican grottoes where the Tomb of St. Peter is located and where the popes who have been heads of state are buried, as well as others of significant importance.
También está en el lugar se encuentran varias escaleras con un recorrido algo circular que te llevan a las grutas del Vaticano donde se encuentran el Sepulcro de San Pedro y así como también están enterrados los papas que han sido jefes de Estado, así como otros con importancia significativa.
In case you are in this city and decide to enter the basilica, I indicated that it is free, it opens every day at approximately 8:00 in the morning until 18:00 in the afternoon and depending on the season you will find huge queues to enter, however these are usually quite fast and as I said the tour can be done by yourself, but around there are several agencies that also have guided tours in different languages and you can hire them so that in this way you can understand a little more of the history of this majestic place. En caso de que se encuentren por esta ciudad y decidan entrar a la basílica, les indicaba que la misma es gratuita, abre todos los días en horario aproximado entre las 8:00 de la mañana y hasta las 18:00 de la tarde y dependiendo la temporada pues encontrarás enormes colas para entrar, sin embargo estás suelen ser bastante rápidas y como les he comentado el recorrido lo puedes hacer por libre, pero a sus alrededores se encuentran varias agencias que también tienen visitas guiadas en diferentes idiomas y los puedes contratar para que así de esta manera poder entender un poco más parte de la historia de este majestuoso lugar. Buenos días, te saludo desde La Habana. Me ha encantado este tour 😃 por la Basílica de San Pedro, admirando tus hermosas fotografías. Sí, realmente son llamativos los de la guardia suiza y esos contraluces te quedaron divinos.
Yo acabo de despertar prácticamente, lo único que he hecho es beber un vaso de agua, preparar café y me encuentro con este hermoso trabajo. Gracias, en verdad, somos muy afortunados por poder admirarlo.
Pero que bonito comentario me haz sacado una sonrisa de lo grande. Pues en estos momentos también te estoy acompañando con un café mientras trabajo.
