Hail to the Hive!
We are now only a couple of days away from being set loose, as it were, from the boatyard. The new engine is in, test runs complete and only the tidying up and a bit of painting in the engine bay to finish it all off. Excited to be leaving. But at the same time a little sad as we have enjoyed our time here and the people we have met.
I am taking the chance, during a break in the rain, to wander around the boatyard and grabbing a few last shots of the boats that have been yanked out of the water to have work completed on them. I do love these places. Full of interesting vessels and big machinery.
The boats look just as cool, if a little odd, when craned out of the water. I often wonder what they are like on the inside as we all tend to make our boats bespoke to our individual needs , whims and fancies. Our little Badger has only just begun her transformation. So much more to come.
I think 2 more days and we should be about wrapped up with everything that needs to be done on the boat and then only the parting of money and then ourselves remains. It has been a positive time all around. Both the work done and the people here have been fantastic.
We will return here in the spring to have some more bits done. We like these people.
