Hail to the Hive!
We passed this beautiful old industrial pottery building yesterday. In fact we nearly moored opposite but decided to push on a little further but I knew I would take a walk back and a walk back I took indeed to capture some #monomad gold. These old buildings oooze personality.
A lot of these old buildings have not been saved but some, like this one, have. Some, I have observed chugging along, are now apartment buildings and this one has been turned into workshops and tea rooms. A lovely job they’ve done too.
You may even recognise this building as it also featured in the excellent TV show ‘The Peaky Blinders’
The Buildings themselves were built in 1888 and are a striking example of the eras brick built industrial buildings. Something I took for granted as a child growing up in the Midlands, UK and now realise how much heritage and character they’ve torn down to redevelop some areas. Mostly for the worse.
Tomorrow I think I will feature a similar building on here but one that has been neglected and partly torn down. Hopefully someone with vision will do something like this
It’s so worth it!
Don’t you think?
Amazing pictures 👍👍
coming from you thats a compliment as your images are pretty damned good!
