The lotus has many philosophical meanings. In Buddhist society, the lotus is considered a symbol of awakening. This is because of the characteristics and nature of this flower which only blooms during the day and closes or buds at night. In addition, philosophers often use the lotus as a symbol of the heart and clean. The lotus lives in dirty water but can still keep its flowers clean and beautiful. It provides a lesson for us humans who have to stay good and clean even though the environment in which we live or the environment of our friends is surrounded by bad things.
Now, I see its relevance in the movie I mentioned above! It was actually a group called The White Lotus, who never took sides, but remained neutral in the war going on in the world in the movie.
