MONOMAD: Fog in Urban Areas

in Black And White6 months ago

The view of South Jakarta was captured from the 11th floor of Poins Square Apartment. I began photographing at 04:00 WIB, using a slow shutter speed setting of 1/5 second to capture the full moon over Jakarta on Saturday, 29 November 2023. I only managed to get one good angle because afterward, the full moon seemed to be swallowed by the fog, followed by the rays of the sunrise. The morning atmosphere is bright, yet the fog still obscures the distant view, making it hard for me to differentiate between the morning mist and the smog pollution that shrouds the sky of Jakarta, an inherent risk that must be accepted by urban cities. For the residents of Jakarta, it is nearly impossible to see blue skies and clumps of clouds.

The smog seems to be worrying om, especially the fact that you took the shot early in the morning.
you should make it as the entry for the cityscape contest from photofeed. : )
lovely shots om.

Excellent black and white photographs, especially the full moon capture. Incredible city views of Jakarta taken from the eleventh floor @vannour

It's interesting to watch and document the progress of skyscrapers being built.

The last time I visited Jakarta was in 2017, now developments there have changed a lot.
