#Monomad Challenge - Iron and green [Eng-Pt]

in Black And Whiteyesterday

Good evening, #Monomad friends

Here is my entry for the #monomad contest by @brumest and @monochromes.

A walk in the open air is always an opportunity to grow. We grow when we look at the outside world through the eyes of a child, when we seek something new, even if it is a very familiar setting.

On one of my recent weekend trips, I traveled to the eastern part of Lisbon. Before 1998, this area was largely undervalued, consisting mainly of large manufacturing companies' shipyards, with almost no service companies and even fewer residential or commercial areas.

With the 1998 International Expo, Expo 98, the entire zone underwent a dramatic transformation.

Today, there are few signs of what was intentionally left to remind us of the origins of this part of the city.

Today, it is one of the city's main entertainment centers, with several pavilions capable of hosting events for thousands of people and a prestigious commercial area by the river.

In addition to these infrastructures, many of those used in the exhibition have been refurbished and now serve new purposes.

The green spaces blend perfectly with the Portuguese pavement, which winds its way between the various pine trees lining the majestic Tagus River.

In this area, it is common to find points of interest to photograph, given that the symmetries created, both by human constructions and by some of the resident flora, attract interest and lead to relaxation just over 30 minutes by public transport from my home.

Do you have a place near your home that you visit regularly, and where you almost always bring home a photograph or two that captures a detail you only noticed then?

Familiar places! 😃

And they are so great to revisit. Every time I find some particular angle, some particular detail, or shadow form that awakes my attention!

Beautiful black and white photos, especially with the play on perspective on the last two shots.
