Quickly realized there was little chance of getting shots of the natural scenery without people in the way, so opted to just shoot the people instead

That is the "brake" that usually stops me... I'm very shy, and to capture persons and children, I don't like to be noticed 😅

Kind of thinking about buying one "true" camera, so I can take photos without using a smartphone, and seeing them in a large screen and have the BIG disappointment... Has you can imagine!

A long lens really helps with that :D Here it worked out nicely, nobody could quite tell whether I was photographing the scenery or them.

A DSLR or something like that definitely helps, especially with how you're perceived.
