On Easter Sunday we had the privilege of witnessing 2 of my nephews being baptised. We arrived at the St James tidal pool at the beach at 6,30am before the sun had risen. The morning was misty and it had been raining at home before we left, only a 15 minute drive away. But St James beach had a gap in the clouds and mist exposing the age old pool.
St James pool by morning light
As fellow church goers gathered to watch, we listened to the sounds of worship and praise until all were present and the minister welcomed everyone on that glorious Easter morning and introduced those being baptised.
Those being baptised
As the sun slowly rose behind the clouds it gave a warming yet eery appearance to the glassy still pool, as my nephews were baptised by their dad and an elder of the church.
The onlookers and witnesses
It was a special morning and I hope the boys will remember it forever.
His glory in the clouds and reflecting in the pool
There is a song called His Glory Appears and it has a chorus that goes like this....
‘And His Glory appears,
like the light of the sun,
Age to age He shines.
Oh look to the sky,
hear the angels cry,
singing holy is the Lord!’
What a very special baptism and on such a special day too!
