Pitfalls To Avoid As A Young Christian

in The Kingdom3 days ago

Good evening everyone. It's good to have you here in this space. I welcome you all to my blog.

This evening, I want to share my view on what I title pitfalls to avoid as a young Christian.

Pitfalls mean hidden problems, dangers, or difficulties that can cause failure or make something go wrong.

As a young Christian, you should aspire to make a difference in your generation. Being useful to God is the best choice you should make, as far as God is concerned.

As a Christian, there are certain things I want you to know about being a youth. And not just a youth but a useful youth at that.

And as a youth, there are things I want you to know about God and how you should be devoted to his work rather than your youthful desires.

  1. Youthful but not useful
This is about a Christian who is endowed with much energy and filled with passion as a youth, but he or she isn't channelling the energy towards God's purpose.

This set of youths spends their energies on selfish pursuits, worldly distractions, as well as reckless behavior, which doesn't give glory to the kingdom work.

Ecclesiastes 12:1 urges every youth to first and foremost " remember your creator in the days of your youth".

Youthfulness, is wasted if you don't use it to serve God. But to be fit for God's use, your youthfulness must be paired with purpose. But one thing you should do, is to seek God's direction through prayer and obedience to become useful.

  1. Available but not Reliable
This particular point talks about young Christians being available but not reliable in God's vineyard. A youth can be willing to serve and also say yes to God's call, but due to a lack of consistency or dependability.

These sets of youths might show up in everything, but they might not follow through with the processes. It could be as a result of not being spiritually mature.

Anyone who is always available without being reliable can't be fit for the master's use.Our God values our faithfulness.( 1 Corinthians 4:2)

  1. Ready but not willing
This is another set of youths we have in our various denominations.
A lot of youth are always prepared to work for God, but not willing to do the work.

They can show their readiness by studying the scriptures, by praying, and by skill-building. But they lack the heart to act.

They might be equipped but fearful, or unwilling to step out for evangelism with faith. Readiness without willingness is like having the tools but refusing to make use of them.

Our God usually desires a heart that says "yes" to the will of God.

In conclusion, as a believer and as a youth that you are, it's always good to be ready and also willing to respond to God's call. Learn to cultivate a surrendered heart, and also trust God to lead them to action. ( Jonah 1:3)

Thank you all.
