followed a senior friend the other day to buy food. He complained that he was hungry and wanted to eat at a local kiosk down the road. On our way back, we met another friend on the road, and we stopped to greet her. It was evening, and it was becoming dark.
I noticed a dog standing very close to us. It didn't back away; it just stood there. I mistook it for a goat until I got very close. My Senior friend also confirmed that he thought it was a goat because it wasn't behaving like a dog.

This experience brings us to our topic: misplaced identity. Many Christians have lost their identity and allowed the devil to tell them lies about who they truly are in God.
Some have accepted the identity of a chicken, forgetting that their Father is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5). Others have allowed the world to define their true identity. As believers, our identity is rooted in the written Word of God.
Gideon saw himself as small, but God saw him as a mighty man of valor (Judges 6:12). David never allowed how people saw him to hinder him from winning the battle against Goliath (1 Samuel 17).
Have you discovered your identity in Christ? He said, "You are the light of the world, a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden" (Matthew 5:14). Discover what God has said about you, and don't wait for societal validation to define you.
