I read the bible many years ago and many other texts. Proverbs was my favourite chapter and St.Paul's letters.
It's good that you are reading and suggest widening your list to include some of these below.
Buddhism is a fascinating read as is the Koran and Taoist teachings. They all have interesting ideas.
Basically they are all conduct of life lessons.

I grew up around pretty much every religion you could possibly imagine. I even grew up secular and was never in a church at all. So I researched it all. Read plenty of the Qu'ran, did a lot of diving into Buddhism as well. Spent many of days on the corner of downtown Toronto, building and talking with lots of different faith preachers.
It comes down to what is truth. And if I go by what the bible says, Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. So everything else falls short in my measuring stick. God winks at ignorance, so I don't think 'only my faith is saved'. But logically, I cannot believe anything else.
