Nutshell es una canción de la banda de grunge estadounidense Alice in Chains de su álbum Jar of Flies del año 1994.
Es difícil siempre hace un cover a una canción de esta agrupación, más allá de los acordes de la guitarra o ejecución del bajo, es un compromiso muy duro realizar una voz que se asemeje al trabajo que hacía su vocalista Layne Staley. Ahora a todo lo antes dicho debemos sumarle el sentimiento en la interpretación, todo lo vivido por el artista lo que lo llevó a redactar las líneas de esta canción que no son más que las huellas que fue dejando en el camino a su muerte en el año 2002.
Nutshell nos habla de depresión, de abandono y soledad, que fueron estados que acompañaron la vida de Layne desde el inicio de su carrera hasta alcanzar lo más alto, para posteriormente ser atrapado por su propia sombra. Los vicios y conductas inadecuadas crearon una montaña rusa emocional en su mente hasta un viaje sin retorno. Y aunque en los cancioneros de la banda encontraremos muchas letras similares a ésta, sabemos que este tema en particular nos narra parte del camino.

Nutshell is a song by American grunge band Alice in Chains from their 1994 album Jar of Flies.
It is difficult to always cover a song by this group, beyond the guitar chords or bass performance, it is a very hard commitment to make a voice that resembles the work done by their vocalist Layne Staley. Now to all the above we must add the feeling in the interpretation, everything lived by the artist which led him to write the lines of this song that are nothing more than the footprints he left on the way to his death in the year 2002.
Nutshell tells us about depression, abandonment and loneliness, which were states that accompanied the life of Layne from the beginning of his career until he reached the top, to later be trapped by his own shadow of the. The vices and inappropriate behaviors created an emotional roller coaster in his mind until a trip with no return. And although in the songbooks of the band we will find many lyrics similar to this one, we know that this particular song tells us part of the way.
