The Arch of the General Staff is the name of this place. But it's not about the arch and its place. It's about the drawings on the camera matrix.
These photos are not the result of an image overlay in an editor (for example, Photoshop). They are received directly on the camera matrix during the shooting itself.
I finally decided to do experiments in this direction more closely. At the same time, I finally tried using a tripod (last photo).
After a series of pictures, I realized that now I would have to develop some kind of tripod device that would combine the advantages of a tripod and free rotation around the optical axis. Something should work out :)

I know there are tripod heads that give total control over the rotation, planes, angles, etc.
Awesome set of experimental photos, the one with the tripod really stands out!

I'm afraid it may be too expensive, besides, I don't need much accuracy with this method of shooting. You just need to not deviate too much from the axis/object. After all, the "curtain" is closed at a long shutter speed and I no longer see the picture :)
By the way, I don't think that these heads can rotate exactly around the optical axis of the camera, although everything may be, you need to ask)

I guess it is expensive, yes. By the way the LightPainters here use such tripods, I think.
But having a head that moves only in one plain is cool too, I love the long exposure blurs they create...

I have just looked at the ads in online stores. There are different ball and swivel heads, cheap and expensive... but I haven't found what I need in terms of functionality. None of those heads provide rotation around the optical axis of the lens/camera. And I need exactly this effect.
So, I'll have to do something myself)

Thanks for the link, I looked at some very interesting works.
I finally figured out what what I need looks like. To begin with, I will assemble a homemade head. I just have to find a suitable hard corner. Maybe I 'll finish the build tomorrow )
