The number five is importance in nature, you can see many features in nature that involve this number. It is related with the golden mean, which is a universal constant associated with the optimization of the space and energy. Moreover the golden mean gives the asymptotic growth of the Fibonacci numbers. For these reasons we observe the majority of flowers have five petals. In these photos I share photos of a papaya section. You can see that the hole has the shape of a five pointed star. The reason of that is that optimizes the space for the fruit’s seeds.
The photos were taken with the camera of a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and edited in Gimp.
El número cinco es importante en la naturaleza, ya que esta relacionado con la razón aérea, la cual es una constante universal involucrada en muchos procesos de optimización del espacio y la energía. Así mismo la razón áurea es el factor de crecimiento de los números de Fibonacci, por estas razones el número cinco aparece en muchos objetos naturales, como el número de pétalos. En estas fotos muestro la sección de una papaya (o lechosa como también se le conoce en Venezuela), pueden observar que la sección es una estrella de cinco puntas, la razón de ello es el optimizar el espacio destinado a las semillas del fruto.
