Table top books

in Photo-essay17 hours ago

For any book lover beautiful books are pure joy. This display is a favorite of mine at my son and daughter-in-law's home.

Hope you enjoy the photos!

There truly is something magical about the visual experience of a beautiful book. It transforms reading from a simple act of consuming information into a truly wonderful experience!

Pretty books are a "bibliophile’s delight"—the intricate gold foil, the textures of the bindings, the typography, and the high-quality paper. I have been a reader my entire life and books are a passion for me.

This selection of books, published by Shakespeare and Comany in Paris, displayed along with the qull pen in its stand and an ink pot add a pleasant addition to a room. And it is a lovely way to share your appreciation and love of books with anyone visiting.

When a publisher goes the extra mile—with gilded edges, embossed covers, and thoughtful design—it signals a deep respect for the author's work. It makes the book feel like an heirloom rather than just a product.-Shakespeare and Company

A digital file holds the words, but a physical book of this quality holds the reverence!

Physical books have their own charm, and if they are editions with good finishes and pleasing designs, then the pleasure is greater.

You know, old books always attract my attention. Don't know why. I'm old fashioned, love the books.

Me too! I love old books!

Without books history is silent.

Ahh that is really great thing; Books are purely our world's memory bank. Without them the stories, lessons and struggles of the people who came before us would completely disappear. They give a voice to the past so we can understand how we got to where we are today.

Beautiful collection! I totally agree with you- files can never replace the real feel of physical books. The gold edges and that quill pen setup make the whole display look so classic. That red cover of 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' really caught my eye though! Thanks for sharing these photos.

I have loved books my entire life and this collection is delightful.

Hi @melinda010100. Congratulations on completing your Ecency quest today.

😊 Thank you!

Lovely book shelf. Neatly arranged along and above all the ink bottle that I last saw ages before while in school. A good reminder. May you have a good day.

Thanks! I Can't imagine the skill it took to be good at writing with a quill pen!

Exactly. Time taken should be more, but something interesting and different from the regular stream.

A nice collection of the classics.
I like physical books, my favorite Used Book store is no longer in business since the pandemic pushed it into bankruptcy leaving Thrift Stores my only cheap and totally random source. I'm just wading the waters of audiobook titles since my fine motor skills have deteriorated lately.

I've needed to switch to audio books, too. Thank goodness audible.com has lots of free selections. Otherwise as much as I read, I'd go bankrupt!

Beautifully bound editions. A special addition to any library.

The other books are in a bookcase, but these make fine display.

The books are the compilation of great knowledge, moreover,
"Alice in the wonderland".

I have heard so much about this book but have not been able to read it. Maybe, one day , I will!. Thank you for sharing.
