Today is one hour less. For these European regions, the shortening of the days has also brought rain, confirming that autumn is here.

In autumn, with the rain, nature transforms death into rebirth. It is a great time for change. From the fallen leaves, blown by the wind, other seeds will reproduce life/projects/dreams.

To inaugurate this nostalgic and rainy season, which arrived with the time change, I share three songs that fit the spirit and correspond to the musical genres desired by this community.

MARK HOLLIS – Crying in The Rain

This song is the first audio recording by Mark Hollis, the late lead singer of Talk Talk. It is a demo recorded in 1979 that was never released commercially, made just before the band was formed.

It is a personal recording with his first band, The Reaction. A calm sound with somewhat painful and nostalgic lyrics. Good for the times we are living in. The choice is a tribute to this excellent musician who left a unique legacy and influenced several musicians and bands—Radiohead, for example.

R.E.M. - I'll Take The Rain

In this song, rain is used as a symbol of difficult and emotionally adverse moments. The choice to accept rain is proof of resilience in the downs and complexities of life.

The beat of the song lifts us up to a very positive vibration that makes us want to face our problems and adversities head-on. “Take wing, and celebrate the rain.” That's why we chose it.

This song belongs to the 12th album, entitled “Reveal,” released in 2001.

PRINCE - Purple Rain

Who has never been captivated by this electrifying song by the King, Prince? Powerful sound, my God. It will remain for eternity. We are privileged to have inherited this music.

In this song, rain takes on a powerful symbolism of the end of cycles and the possibility of finding hope even in the face of uncertainty. At the beginning of the official video, Prince dedicates the song to his father. Absolutely powerful and symbolic.

The color purple results from the mixture of red (blood) and blue (sky), symbolizing this moment of transition between the end and a new beginning, where love and spirituality are essential.
