That's good to know! However, a friend of mine who did so told me she found her body full of ticks after her Scandinavian tour camping like this. Any input on this is very welcome.
I think this can happen anywhere in the EU nature. I guess she was unlucky :(
Also I went quite late in the season, at night it was already quite cold. Now I'm no tick expert, but maybe they don't like the cold and were already gone...
Sucks though if you are covered in em 😬
They seem to be inactive when temperatures drop below 5C. We also have them here in Hellas as well but not as intense. Can't recall a camper complaining about them. Personally I got tick 3 times in my life, all of them at seaside places. I guess being under dressed help them a lot :)
