As the general election is ongoing in India, media industry is pulling a lot of attention from around the world as well within India. Media always remain on limelight during these phases as a lot depends upon their views and opinion during the formation of government. There were lot of talks and also finger were raised towards the working of media. The situation is such that some has referred it as godi media for their biased opinions or journalism for the sake of ruling government. I am neither into politics nor in journalism to judge the authenticity of the prediction of opinion as far as the general election is going. It has alwsys been said that media has the power to form any government or topple any government. They have the mass reach to maximum number of people which allows them do wonder with their own opinion based towards the government. Citizen generally develops a blind faith over the media opinions and form their own perception over it. This help the election result to be decided over media and swayed to whatever been said in there.

godi media is a word coined by one of the journalist that translates to "media sitting on the lap" of the rulling government. When we are referring media it may refers to print or electronic. Media has alwsys been associated with "freedom of speech".
Freedom of speech and freedom of the press are both basic human rights. Freedom of speech is the right to hold opinions without interference and to share information and ideas through any media. Freedom of the press is the right to communicate and express oneself through various media, including print and electronic media, without interference, such as radio, television, and the internet.

In India, "freedom of speech" and expression is guaranteed to all citizens in Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution. People are free to talk and set up their own opinion. But "freedom of the press" is not mentioned. However, the Constitution's Article 19(1)(a) does include freedom of expression, which includes freedom of the press or media. This freedom promotes democracy and encourages independent journalism by allowing people to voice their opinions on the government's actions.

When it comes to freedom of speech, it referred to the right of an individual or community to express their opinions and ideas without fear of, censorship, or legal punishment from the government. Every citizen are free to voice their opinion no matter what they relate too. Nowadays with the help of the internet and social media we can voice our opinions louder than ever. We can expand tye reach to every corner of the world. However, at many instances, an offensive and abusive opinion were tried to suppress in the wake of creating communal disturbances or hampering peace of the nation. Free speech is good for society, when it is directed with some good intention. It fuels public discussions about subjects that were often considered taboo to talk about.

On the other hand "Freedom of the press" in India is subject to restrictions. Media have lots of power, but there could be Defamation law, Lack of protection for whistleblowers, etc. Freedom of press can promote transparency. A free press can expose corruption, human rights abuses, and other wrongdoing, making it harder for those in authority to act with impunity. However, every freedom comes with its challenges, and press freedom is no exception. Governments have the power to distinguish which materials are public or protected from disclosure to the public. So the press get bounded with their action.

When I was reading I was thinking about the necessity of a free press, that is the basis of freedom of expression and true information. Unfortunately in most of the world the media is controlled by the government and true information does not reach the people, only false information.😌

Media sector is supposed to be free from all shackles but again , everything is up for sale when it comes to money...and this what makes media to saleable in the government.

Exactly, for money the media says what the governments want and the people are ignorant to everything.

Namaste bhai sahab, is the the Godi of Modi? Indeed the press is no longer unbiased, if it ever was. It's controlled by a few big wallets at the top. Propaganda, usually for the government.

At least Hive blockchain is uncensored free speech (I hope).

You hope, I doubt....there are few instances...where mouth were shut coercily
