The Hive students Hub is a newly born support project for school going children in Ghana, similar to the HiveGoesToSchool project run in Venezuela.

The community team representing (@depressedfuckup,@thisisnativeboy, @abdul01, @samed10) run our first out reach program at GAF International School, an underprivileged primary and Junior High School in Tamale, Ghana.

Prior to our visit, we’d made several preparations in accordance with the school visit protocols and it was agreed we could come today. So we were at the school premises by …am

We met and talked with the staff, enlightened them (again) on the purpose of our visit, and then together with the school staff, we went around the class rooms to talk to and distribute the books among the kids.

You should’ve seen the kids faces. They were beaming with excitement and happiness, curious what our uniform T-shirts represented, what we had for them, and why we were giving them anything to even begin with. So to brief them:

we educated them on who we are, letting them know that we present an web3 community called Hive and that this book distribution was one of the several ways our community is supporting and changing lives in the real world.

We visited 8 classes, from Kindergarten 1 to primary 6 and we shared 164 books among the students and 36 books among staff, giving each member of staff 3 Hive-branded books and 1 hive-branded pen. For the kids, we gave two books to each student in the upper primary classes because they were older and had more use for the books. For the much younger kids, we gave one book to everyone in the remaining 7 classes, everything adding up to 200 books and 16 pens being distributed (12 pens for staff and 4 for Hive representatives)

At the end of our interaction with them, we helped them see that the internet was more than just TikTok or Facebook. Hive is a standing embodiment that the internet can be more. That social media can be more than just a place to post pictures and videos. It represents a true sustaining community that cares about the quality of life of even people outside the community, and is willing to contribute a quota to helping people and making the world a better place.

From our interaction with the student and staff:

  • A concern raised by the school about a lack of a computer laboratory to help keep the kids abreast with basic modern necessities like access to technology, specifically the internet. This was raised by a very concerned member of staff and he even mentioned of his several attempts to get in touch with non-governmental organizations(NGOs) that could in some be of assistance. In the future, I think there could be regular check ins at the schools previously supported by Hive through the HiveStudentsHub to see if Hive could further help alleviate some of their lacks.

  • We saw a lot of untapped talents upon our visit and we think it would be great to have some of the kids display their talents on Hive even now. The team considered creating Hive accounts for either the schools supported or individual accounts so kids with potential to indoctrinate and expose them early enough to the internet, web3 and content creation, whatever their talents may be.

At the end of everything, the students and staff organized to say a thank you to Hive for this act of kindness. We’re hoping that we can do regular check up on the school, update the Hive community, and if possible go back there for another distribution exercise some time.

Nothing is impossible with Hive and Hive on several occasions has demonstrated that. The Ghanaian community is forever thankful to @guiltyparties, @theycallmedan and @valueplan as as well ad @hivestudentshub and the collobrative effort of the Hive Ghana team leaders @mcsamm and @collinz for all the ongoing projects aimed at improving the quality and standard of life in our motherland.

It is truly inspiring to witness the impact that Hive has had on people's lives. This is the beauty that can only be seen through the lens of the platform. The smiles captured in pictures are a testament to the positive change that Hive has brought to many. This is the very reason why we aspire to use Hive to touch even more lives. The potential for Hive to make a difference in people's lives is immense. Kudos to you for representing the team and working to give Hive the exposure it deserves in the Northern Region of Ghana @depressedfuckup

This is indeed beautiful 😍. I love projects like this. The customized hive exercise book looks good too. Thank you guys for putting smiles on those kids faces. God reward you guys for this massive effort ✅👍

Thank you! This is all really possible through Hive funding, so the thanks goes to the supporters of the project. We're hoping to be able to provide the pens and some hand bands to the students sometime in the future as well.

I think the title should say - Hive (not Hove)

It should. Wondering how I missed that typo. This comment was fast. Is this a kind of an automated bot response? That would be supercool btw:)

Well.
Whenever I am working, I keep an eye on new videos posted by the 3Speak Mobile app.
It wasn't a bot response.

Haha nice to know. Thanks for pointing that out and have a nice day:)

I just love this reply. I don't know why. Great work boss😍

I don't think its a bot response, people see your post faster than you think

Oh and you tagged him.

A great outreach it was. Thank you for leading the team to making hive known and helping make education easier for students. I think with time, the regular checkout will be in place to see how well we can’t only help the schools with other items but but also see how we can help these schools manage the talents of their students.

I look forward to expanding the project. The kids will be thrilled to see us again next time. It's really exciting and mind-blowing to see what Hive can do offline. Thanks for showing up yesterday btw.

Oh nice😍❤️.. great job guys. Thanks for putting a smile on these youngsters faces and teaching them the way. Blockchain is the future and the future is here. Keep up with the good buddies 👍

Well said. Hive is doing a lot of good in the real world and this is only one of the many things.

I can see that buddy☺️. Just continue with the good work..

Oh this is absolutely lovely man, it's nice to see the smiles on the faces of these kids. This is what life should be about. Helping in every way possible and I am glad hivestudentshub has partnered with hiveghana for this wondefrul project. Kudos👏

Exactly, man. I'm looking forward to the Navrongo campus team's distribution. Is it still happening this week?

Naa bro. Change in exams timetable have made us push it to next week. Hopefully there are no unforeseen circumstances this time around.

Oh that’s fine. Looking forward to it.

Wow this is nice, good job guys 👍

Absolutely Marvelous!
Look at the kids faces! I would pay anything to see a kid so happy like this. This outreach program did really serve a good course. They look really happy and that worth is compared to none.

It reminded me of the donation we did on campus a few months ago and also a little bit of my childhood. I went to school under circumstances like this so it was very relatable to understand their excitement. I'm waiting to hear from you guys when you set out for your own distribution this week.

We are having one of this lovely outreaches over here too! 😄
I cannot wait to see million dollar looks and smiles on those kids faces.
@yahuzah can you wait? Cuz I cannot!!! 😬

Can’t wait too bruh. 🤞

Wow, this a beautiful initiative and you are doing a great job by supporting people and also promoting the platform.

Thank you. The goal is to cause real positive changes in people’s lives through Hive.

Nothing can be more refreshing than seeing all these wonderful smiles. It’s always the little things 🤗

It was a honor to take part in this fulfilling outreach, I can not wait to do it again!

Thanks for representing at the distribution yesterday, bro. God bless you.

That was a massive work done by you guys. It feels good to see how the promotional work of hive is improving lives.

Indeed. You guys are doing well with the community support projects and I’m sure there’s more coming. Thank you for the amazing work you do to make these things happen.

Wow this is beautiful. I wish I was part to feel the love around. Continue the good works guys!

Thanks. I thought of calling you up but since it was on a working day I thought you’d be occupied. I’ll inform you of our next distribution for sure.

Alright. I’ll be expecting it.

This is very very beautiful. See the smiles on their faces.

1:55, did you see what the teacher did there?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The teacher seems to be a talkative.😅

Good job done 👏👏 God bless you all.

Haha yeah he understands them best and they him, so he was basically representing them and telling us what the kids might not be able to tell us now. We plan on keeping in touch with him and doing some big things in the future for the schools.

That’s very good. Keep up the good work.

This is a great post!

And because it is such a great post and mentions Web3, I've given it a 100 percent upvote. Feel free to follow my curation trail at https://hive.vote/.
