Blog #0003: MADE WITH LOVE SHANGHAI ISAW (OWN VERSION)

Hello, Lifescape tribe friends! How are you all doing today? It's been a while since I posted here. By the way, I just want to share with you our own version of Shanghai Chicken Intestine, or here in the Philippines, we call it "Shanghai Isaw." Have you ever tried to do it on your own, or is this your first time hearing about that kind of food? Some of my co-workers are not familiar with it. So, the first time I sell it to them and they taste it, they eventually love it and look for it. Yes, you can also sell it to your friends, co-workers, and relatives. Because it really tastes good. It looks like Lumpiang Shanghai, but the difference is that we use the chicken intestine, or isaw, instead of pork.

Here are the ingredients for making Shanghai Isaw:
Isaw (Chicken Intestine)
Egg
Carrot
Celery
Onion
Garlic
Pepper
Salt
Cooking Oil
Lumpia Wrapper

Procedure:

  1. The intestines are cleaned thoroughly and then boiled. After you boiled it, you chopped it into small pieces. After you chop or grind all the ingredients, you mix them all in a clean bowl or anything else you use for preparing food.
  2. Scoop around 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of filling and place over a piece of lumpia wrapper. Spread the filling, and then fold both sides of the wrapper.
  3. Heat oil in a cooking pot. Deep-fry lumpia on medium heat until it floats.
  4. Remove it from the pot.

After you cooked it. You can pair it with spiced vinegar or sweet chili sauce; it depends on your taste. But for me, it's best paired with spiced vinegar. You can eat it as a snack or with rice.😋
