From Flower to Fruit, The Unexpected Pomegranate in My Garden

I didn’t know we had this kind of plant! My mom often buys plants, and this was one of the ones she purchased. At first, I thought it was just a flowering plant.

But since I always search online for the names of the plants I see at home, I was surprised to discover that this is actually a pomegranate plant!

When I found out it was a fruit-bearing plant, I immediately transferred it to a bigger pot. I figured, How would it grow properly if it was planted in a small pot when it’s supposed to bear fruit?

But that’s not what shocked me the most. What really surprised me was seeing that it already has fruit! The plant is still small, only about 1 foot tall, and I always thought pomegranates grew into trees.

After researching, I learned that there are dwarf pomegranate varieties that can bear fruit even when they’re still small.

I’ve never eaten an actual pomegranate fruit before. The only pomegranate I’ve tasted is the juice sold in grocery stores.

I’m not sure if this fruit will grow bigger, but it is a fruit, right? It definitely looks like one! I’ll keep an eye on this plant and update you on whether the fruit grows and ripens. If it does, I’ll start grafting this plant to propagate more of them. Hahaha! 😆🌱

I love the "crunch" of this fruit. We call it "Granada" and in our place. !BBH

I haven't tried eating the fruit, but I already know its taste because of the pomegranate juice from the grocery store. I just don't know if the taste is close.
