If you're following me, you'd know that most of my posts are about Splinterlands. So, when I stopped playing, I had nothing to post anymore.
I've been busy with gardening. I decided to plant vegetables and fruit-bearing plants in our backyard.
I don’t know, I just suddenly thought of wanting to plant something. One of the things I planted is melon. I’m not sure if I can make it bear fruit because this is my first time trying to grow it.
The cantaloupe melon I planted grew healthy. I got the seeds from a cantaloupe melon I bought at the market. After eating it, I saved the seeds and planted them.
I just placed them in plastic biscuit containers with holes at the bottom.
The problem is I haven’t seen any female flowers that I can pollinate, and I’m not sure if they’re ready for pollination since the plants are only a month old.
I trained the vines to climb on bamboo sticks and secured them with clips. My plan is that if they bear fruit, I’ll place the fruit in a plastic net to grow while hanging.
There are some pollinators in our garden, so I hope I won’t need to manually pollinate, and the plants will still produce fruits. It might still take a while, though—at least 40 days before the fruit ripens, if ever there will be any.
I’m also not sure if I planted them at the right season. Hopefully, the plants stay healthy, and I can harvest a lot because I really love cantaloupe melon.
