Mud daubers are slender, long-legged wasps—usually black, metallic blue, or yellow-striped. They are non-aggressive, rarely sting, and live alone.

Being an insect,it's a mystery how they taught of making themselves a shelter, surveys a good location for the building with different rooms and also store food in all the rooms so that they won't go hungry.

They believe in team work. Mud dauber wasp can never be found alone, while building its house. It's always a male and female. Each of them has as a role to play in order to achieve their aim.

The male surveys areas suitable for their shelter, such as a hard and vertical surfaces for stability and also areas where they can be protected from rain like house walls, rafters, garages, shed etc, while the female collects mud from wet soil and both of them gradually shapes it into a house.

They also build their houses in areas where spider(their preys) are common,so they can kill and store them in the rooms as food.

During the process of building, the female lays one egg in each of the room and seal the chamber with more mud,and once the larva grows,it pupates inside the chamber and eventually chews a small round hole to emerge, the hole now serve as exit and entrance to the rooms in their little comfortable shelter.
